new! bike cards

bike card

i’m ashamed to admit that i’ve only recently been riding my bike with any regularity, and the summer is more than half over. it usually takes me 2-3 rides to get over my anxiety of sharing the road with cars driven by distracted drivers and giant suv’s and scary city buses… even though i live in an urban area that is very bike-friendly and has miles and miles of bike paths and trails, it still takes me a while to find my comfort level. but once i have my confidence, i want to ride my bike everywhere… too bad it takes me so long to find the guts!

i digress…

new! in my etsy shop! bike cards! i’ve been wanting to expand my “punch” series, and the bike seemed like a perfect fit.

It’s fantastic! You even got the front tire to line up perfectly. As for the biking confidence – that’s why I like living by the river where I can easily hop on the non-street bike path.

    Thumbs up!

These are really cute! I sent a tweet out to my bicycling friends to let them know these are here :)

Enjoy biking and consider taking part in the upcoming 30 Days of Biking. It happened in April and will happen again during the month of September.

    Perfect!

Oh, and biking is scary in America. Back home (England) it isn’t too bad, as there are enough other cyclists on the road that the drivers know to look for you (I was almost hit by a police car over here…), but Germany is the best place that I’ve been / seen. Their bike paths are often on the wide sidewalks or through parks. I was able to make my way across most of town without having to share the road with a car.

…and sharing the road with the texters, and the drunks and the mamas handing food to the whiners in the back seat. i get you there. but yes. you can always stick to the paths.

we’re not even sure we can still ride a bicycle and so afraid to try it around these parts. ride like wind for us and i love your card, but so what else is new when it comes to your creations :) ?

I have the same problem with biking… although everybody bikes here (and there aren’t that many SUVs), the streets are so narrow sometimes it just…scares me a bit.
    Love this card!

Love it!! I’m embarrassed to admit I haven’t ridden my bike yet this summer. Even though San Francisco is a pretty bike friendly city, the crazy drivers are too much for me. Maybe I should sign up for an Urban Biking course! ;)

I love, love, LOVE this newest punch card! Wow, so lovely.

And yeah. City biking terrifies me, too. The first two years I lived in Minneapolis I was a commuter biker, and while I loved biking, I’m amazed I came through it without losing any limbs. Soooo many close calls with SUVs, so many people throwing stuff at me because I was on a bike (what’s with that?). It’s enough to make me want to live in a giant hamster bubble for the rest of my life.
