segments

thank you for all of the birthday comments! you guys are so good to me, thank you, thank you.
here’s what i bought myself for my birthday: segments from the amazing cynthia rae levine. i met with her last weekend and picked out nine pieces. we moved them around on the floor, trying to find the right mix/perfect composition.
until i am sure, the segments are installed on my dining room table, and i get to touch them and pick them up daily… it’ll be hard to resist holding/caressing them once they are up.

these are amazing! I love that they are an ever changing installation. good gift for yourself.
q: how big are they? lemon? grapefruit?

The size is pretty hard to tell, but they look fun. Like a laser cutter was taken to rocks. I love Cynthia’s pieces but didn’t know she had some small ones. Very nifty.

size-wise, the larger pieces (browns) are about the size of a cantaloupe, and the smaller ones are like grapefruits.

Wow! They look awesome! Someone mentioned if they were going up on the wall – that would be a cool idea. I love the texture and patterns split rocks form..

Oh, wow, these are beautiful! There’s something so satisfying about a stone cut to a perfectly smooth edge. Also, I love that when people ask what you did for your birthday, you can say, “I bought rocks.” Perfect!

gasp!! if i ever come to visit you would you give me permission (pretty please) to caress these myself? I can only imagine how stunning they will look when you install them. in the meantime they do make a great display on your table.
