the sx-70 i bought on ebay back in july gave me 2 amazing polaroids (one, two), then just groaned each time the shutter button was pressed and refused to spit out another photo. dang. last friday night, i logged onto ebay and came across an sx-70 listing with this description:

this was owned by my parents and was kept in storage after a few uses. we just discovered it while cleaning the garage.

the auction ended in an hour and 30 minutes. there was only one bid. i put in mine. and stayed up, with wine, waiting to see if anyone would jump in at the last minute and drive up the bid. but nope. it was mine, for $41. it arrived tuesday. in its original box. and it works! no groaning… polaroids coming soon.
