will i ever finish?
thank you for all of the great cold-busting tips! my sick-ick was enough to be annoying, but not the ass-kicker i was fearing. it was just enough to make me to slow down, rest, and get to my knitting. here’s where i stand:

my sweater: yeah, this is the one i was going to finish by the end of last january. i was about 90% done, and i decided to start over. at this rate, i might be done at the end of next january.

my skirt: this one was easy to take with me while traveling. i made quite a bit of progress during my flights. but the needles are oh-so-tiny, and what i’ve done up to this point wouldn’t even cover my butt. and it’s supposed to be ankle-length. i should be done by spring 2010. or 2011.

my pillow cover! anna suggested i knit a pillow with my yummy orange yarn. i thought it was a great idea! anna sent me some patterns, but i decided to just start knitting. my original thought was to just do a simple stockinette, and that is what i’ve decided to do, only i like the “wrong” side better. it highlights the texture of the yarn. not sure how i’m going to finish it yet… maybe buttons?
and… the winner of the wires t is comment #8, nikki! thank you again for all of the comments. it’s fun to see old friends and meet new ones… i hope to get back onto a regular blog reading schedule soon…

A pillow cover? Hey - I might be able to do that. Sort a like a big scarf, eh?

The pillow cover looks great! And guess what?! The wrong side is called reverse stockinette and is perfectly acceptable to use as the front. I’m envisioning some of your lovely clay buttons on it or some fun wood ones. Very exciting.
As for the other 2 projects, it looks like you’re making progress. Adult size clothes do take a long time, which is why I never do them. Just take occasional breaks to knit up something quick like the pillow or a cowl and you’ll be done before your projections.

Looovely yarns all of them! beautiful colors. Good thing you have lots of needles… or that they aren’t expensive! How many projects at the same time??
They all look cool though… Buttosn would look good on that pillow cover…if you like wooden ones (dunno if it’s what matches your style) I got a few very simple hand made ones around here I’ll ship them to you… let me know.

OMG!! I love the orange pillow cover! LOVE! I’m cracking up at only half your butt being covered by your knitting - make sure you got some colorful tights on and start something new! I think the idea of a knitted or crochetted skirt is very chic, but I don’t think I want to add that much bulk to my already well endowed booty!

Glad you’re on the mend! Looks like you have plenty of projects to keep you busy.
