what to knit?

i bought this amazing orange skein of yarn last spring (from briar rose fibers). i’m itching to knit something… something i can wear indoors, so it can’t be a scarf or hat. i’m thinking maybe a cowl? this pattern from copycat looks good. or maybe an oversize scarf, that’s almost a shawl? i’m open to suggestions. i have 250 yards to work with. have any great ideas/patterns?

I like the cowl. Maybe a shoulder warmer? http://glampyreknits.tripod.com/glampyrephotos/id43.html
Another idea is to knit a prayer shawl, even if you don’t pray. The idea is to go to that inward, sacred place as you knit it and then wear it at home as a ritual way of having that quiet time with yourself. The whole thing is like a meditation. Of course, you’d have to add to your yummy orange skein.

I only know how to knit scarfs, so I’m really no help. But it’s totally beautiful. And is making me crave pumpkin pie. Then again, I’m always craving pumpkin pie.

I looooove that yarn. The cowl would be great. You might still have problems with it being on the warm side to wear indoors. The only other things I can think of are bags, pillow covers or maybe a mobius wrap sort of thing.

little wrist cuffs would keep you warm in that quickly approaching winter…
