close…

my tomatoes are getting close! we here in minnesota plant pretty late in the spring. i generally wait until memorial day weekend, so my tomatoes are just starting to ripen…
i don’t plant more than i can eat, usually 2-3 roma plants, and then maybe one fun heirloom. if i need more for a big canning project, i’ll shop at the farmer’s market. but being able to step into the backyard and pluck a couple of romas for dinner is one of my favorite parts of summer. and i’m almost there…

Isn’t there just something wonderful about going out the back door to harvest your dinner?

I just picked a few of my firsts! And some cherry tomatoes for snacking. Yay!
Oh, and I’m impressed that you can handle 3 plants. I have a family of 4 and tend to be overwhelmed by 2 or 3 plants. My father on the other hand tends to plant 10-12 every year. That man is nuts. But he does can them.
