i luuuurve making my own soap. well technically, i don’t really make it, i just mix together a glycerine base and essential oils. but making it myself (and knowing exactly what i’m sending down my drain) is so satisfying. monday night i made this batch with french green clay powder and lavender oil.

you can get all of the supplies you need at most craft stores and by searching online. my favorite place to order from is majestic mountain sage. i’ve posted about making soap before, you can read all about it here.

Yeah! I just love the color the clay lends it.

I ran out of the stuff I made at your place a long long time ago. Sniff.

oh jen what a great project! how did you get them to look so perfect? do you use molds? i took a soap making class in hopkins once and we did it from scratch – lye and all. note that i said ‘once’ – haven’t done it since! but your way seems fun and not quite so combustible.

Can almost feel and smell the texture of the soap from here. Unique and environmentally friendly at the same time. Yeah you!! :D

Ps I am not avoiding you. So much organising to do at the moment, can’t believe that I am out of here in less than 2 weeks. Buying a car when you are in another country, organising removalists, internet garage sales and trying to get your arse employed is a lot of phaffing around. Oh let’s not forget Miss CT loving a playing in the mix too….

Beautiful colour to that soap. The more I read about soap making, the more tempted I am… but it looks addictive.

does the french clay eliminate cellulite. i mean i’m not even going to bother if this soap doesn’t promise some kind of miracle.
