stirrings : growth

dear sara,
spring is here! in the short span of a week, the grass has turned green, my tulips have forced their way through the ground, my rhubarb and columbine have grown 2 inches, and the chives are sweet in a simple salad. after such an agonizing wait, it is spring, and i want to savor every minute of it. i hope spring has found salt lake city, too.

Happy for you but in 2 short weeks I will be cold. Looking forward to a very warm autumn and winter by your standards after a 2 year absence. Bring on the cold I say. Yippeeee!!!! Oh seeing my mutt Lil’ again as well as Donnie and Poppie will be fab too. Hmmm I am feeling a north/south collaboration coming on or what???

I third or forth that Yippee! I can’t believe how much change we’ve seen in the last week. I really need some garden time.

Wow, spring is late but FAST there. This is about what the tulips look like on the north face of my house! Hooray for spring and hooray for a mood-booster!

Spring is indeed like being reborn… not only for the natural world… I find myself wanting to be outside doing things all day!

What is it about spring - if you don’t pay attention, it’s like wham and all of sudden it’s there, and the plants are growing 2-3 inches a day! You have rhubarb - YUM!!
