my mom's wedding dress by mark hall-patch
mark hall-patch (etsy shop ephemera friends) creates watercolour archives of compulsory garments.

he painted my mom’s wedding dress (above).

when my mom got married in 1972, she wore a linen jessica mcclintock dress with embroidered detail. i saved the dress and stored it in a closet, and a few years ago my sister asked if she could have it for her wedding. before i passed it on to her, i took photos of it, thinking that one day i would paint my mom’s wedding dress. now years later, i still can’t paint, but mark can, so i had him paint her dress. it’s exactly what i wanted.

(i also want his the cure concert t-shirt.)
