san francisco!
i’m going to san francisco today! it’ll be my second trip there. the first trip was a quickie over labor day weekend in 1996 with my dad & siblings: we flew in to SFO, rented a car, drove to lake tahoe, spent a few days there, drove back to san francisco and over the golden gate bridge (the photo above is the only one i shot in san francisco and it was from the passenger seat of the rental car), drove to the hotel by the airport, watched cable tv for the rest of the day/evening (dad didn’t want to deal with holiday tourist crowds!), slept, flew home. wheeee! (yesterday my dad was still marveling about how the rental car had GPS back then. way back in 1996! can you believe it?! he can’t. that’s what he remembers most about that trip. oh, dad.)
i’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the city, and not just the big bridge and airport.
i’ll be back in this space monday. happy weekend!

Ah, SF. I lived there for three years, til the fog got to me. But it’s such a gorgeous place to visit! Stow the rental car and take the bus, it’s a great transit system and a beautiful way to see the town!
Enjoy! And get up high…go to the top of Twin Peaks, or better yet, Buena Vista park, where I used to walk packs of dogs in the mist! Can’t wait to see pics from this one…

What’s the 1st thing that pops into my head about my trip to SF? Going for a seaside picnic with Ken & Martha and navigating around the naked hiker along a very narrow path. Ah, good times.

Have fun Jen! I fell in love with San Fran! I didn’t think I’d care for it much considering I grew up in Florida by the water which doesn’t impress me much but I was so wowed by it! Visit the Mission, The Lomo Store in Union Square, Twin Peaks for a great view for sure (and a little bit of a hike if you’re out of shape like me!) and PhotoboothSF! Get yourself tintyped or at least visit their really cute store!
