six

amsterdam : chairs
alex of the sunday project tagged me to “open the 6th picture folder on your computer, open the 6th photo and blog it. write something about it. then tag 6 more people to do the same.”

the photo above is my 6 of 6: chairs outside of a shop in amsterdam, taken during last year’s birthday trip.

finding the photo really bummed me out because i am not planning on going to amsterdam for this year’s birthday. and i don’t have a great reason for not going, other than i don’t like spending money i don’t have, and there’s a good possibility that my current contract will be extended into the 3rd quarter. missing a week’s worth of work in this current economy is not appetizing. maybe i’m being too safe? showing my age? i’ll get overseas at some point this year, just not this spring, despite the pangs of wanderlust. spring in europe is so wonderful… dang it! why am i not going?!

ok, enough whining. i’m tagging these wonderful bloggers to display their 6 of 6:

is it friday yet?!

Ohh thanks for tagging me too. I don’t think there will be anything earth shattering though… If it was the old computer, it would have been really interesting because we had photos going back to December 2002…..

Great shot, and if it makes you feel better, I need you here :)

FYI - on my work computer the 6th photo in the 6th folder is of the lovely beet soup you made me this past fall!!

Cool picture and I feel for you. But you’re doing the right thing. Besides it’s good to try out different seasons. You may find fall just as fabulous or you may decide on a completely different adventure this year.

fall is a great time to do europe! the weather is still decent, and the tourists are gone. that would give you a little more time to plan and save.

I know the feeling of wanderlust. I get it every fall and need, need, need to get to San Francisco. Didn’t make it there this year though. Trying to go in July for a friend’s wedding. I have never been to Europe, though. I’d probably spend the rest of my time needing to return!

Because you are a responsible adult! And it will be just like my camera, delayed gratification sometimes has uber benefits. You can go to Europe and not have to worry about the timing or finances and like Anna said you may find that you love other seasons in Amsterdam as well.

I found your blog via your comment left on my cousin’s, Kim Acker. I love your Amsterdam pictures having lived in the city twice totally almost eight years. What an amazing city filled with international flavor. I look forward to perusing all of your pictures. I am relatively new to the blogging community and exploring what artistic form I want mine to take. I related with your desire for more creativity being an educator by day and creative eclectic at all other times. Thanks for bringing your creativity public!
