burst journals

my burst journals are now up in my etsy shop! available in cream, celery, and steel blue. i shared a sneak peek last week, and many of you wondered how i punched the holes. um, i can’t give away all of my secrets! but i may email you how i did it if you ask nicely.
so yes. these are done. i came up with the idea back in september, and ordered all of the materials (papers are from french paper, book cloth from talas). i put everything together and procrastinated on the binding. coptic binding is currently my least favorite binding. i think it’s because i want to pull the thread tight. but if the binding is tight, the book won’t lay flat and the cover will stick up. oh man, is it hard to do loose bindings.
but i’m still pretty happy with them. i love orange, and was looking for a way to design a line where orange is prominent. if any of these sell, i may continue the line with different patterns…

I adore them! Very unique. Love the colors, great pattern and that binding is so tidy. Know what you mean about being loose, I tend prefer working on the tight side myself. Must be the perfectionist in us.
PS I think you should make photo albums like this too.

love the color combinations! Right on time for the beginning of the x-mas shopping (in the netherlands, gifts are exchanged on the 5th of December, so I have to start soon with the shopping…).
On my way to your shop..

These turned out even lovelier than anticipated! Is making things tight a perfectionist quality, because that’s how I crochet….
