too many tights!
my fall/winter uniform: dress, tights, boots. sometimes people say stuff like: you sure like dresses. or do you ever wear jeans? or you dress up a lot. and sometimes i try to explain that wearing a simple sweater dress with tights that aren’t binding is so, so, so comfy and is just like wearing pajamas all day, but sometimes i just shrug my shoulders and say i like wearing dresses. i wasn’t always this way: i was a jeans girl in my 20′s and the first part of my 30′s. but now i like dresses and tights.

some of what you see here is new, but a few pairs are left over from last season, purchased at deep discount when the weather warmed. target and h&m are my go-to. i can’t wait to wear the yellow pair. tomorrow is the first day of autumn, maybe i’ll wear the yellow tights to celebrate.

The yellow ones are awesome! If I was still leaving the house for somewhere that didn’t involve a child I would be wanting some tights too!

Oh I love your collection of tights!

I have always wanted to have a fall/winter uniform of dresses, tights and boots but have never found the right pair of boots (damn you calves). Maybe this is my year!?

    Thanks for the inspiration

Totally agree. Love sweater dresses and tights.

Well with great tights like that – why the hell not! I love having a uniform. You don’t have to think too hard about the overall effect and instead can have fun with the little things like tights, in my case it’s all about the scarves.

i love your style!! i hope you do wear the butternut squash ones tomorrow. i just wore leggings under a dress yesterday to work, ones that i had patched a little hole in them with a circle of charcoal wool that i embroidered a pink skull and cross bones on it. completed with my chuck converse. yes i AM the church secretary!!
when i was a little girl my mom used to make me wear leotards (that’s what we called tights back in the day). i hated them, and under my breath i always called them reotards.

I’m in complete agreement. Tights, or even stockings, are so much warmer than jeans, too.

I love, love, love, LOVE tights! I have a total thing for them. Which reminds me that I’m desperately in need of some pairs for this year—this is the kind of place where wool tights really come in handy.

Thinking of you—happy first day of fall!

what a cozy image! i have such mixed feelings about fall….i enjoy it, but i so don’t enjoy what comes next that it is often hard to stay present.
tights and cashmere coming out of storage, and roasting veggies for the first time certainly are good ways to celebrate fall. thanks for the reminder!

I am moderately patient but, then again. nah… off I go. I hope I pass the test :P
