salt scrub
salt scrubs are easy and inexpensive to make (considering the cost when you buy them at the store!). a few key ingredients and a neat jar or two and you’ve got a great gift or an indulgence for yourself. how-to and recipes after the jump…

the recipe:

- 1 cup grapeseed, avocado, or olive oil
- 1 tablespoon vitamin e or jojoba oil
- 12 drops essential oil

instructions

  1. combine the above ingredients and mix until well blended.
  2. store in a jar by the tub. the jar pictured is a 16 oz jar from majestic mountain sage. you can also re-use 16 oz. jelly or salsa jars! if you find a cool 8 oz jar, just halve the recipe.

oil may make surface of your tub or shower a little slippery, step carefully!

notes: most of the above ingredients can be found at natural food stores and co-ops. they can also be found at majestic mountain sage. suggested essential oils include lavender, ginger, mint, eucalyptus, tea tree. try an oil combo, using 6 drops each of 2 different oils – i love ginger mint.
