polish

i have franken-toes: my second toe, on both the right and left foot, is a full quarter inch longer than my big toe. i usually don’t like drawing attention to my little piggies. but lately? i can’t walk into target without walking out with a new bottle of polish.
last summer, the only polish i used was a pale pink, which gave my toenails a finished look, without drawing attention to the freak show. but meghan turned me on to gold polish over the winter, and i’m hooked on metallics & bright colors. i am celebrating my franken-toes! it’s summer! they want to be out!

way to pamper your franken-toes, remember frankenstein was just a poor misunderstood monster and he just needed some tender loving care.

Come now. Are you picking on my toes? I was blessed with finger toes too. Yup. That’s what they remind me of. The middle one is so blessed long. Part of the reason I hate feet is I have trouble accepting my own. If I could chop that toe shorter, I could lose at least a shoe size. Know what I did to make myself feel better? Spent an entire summer staring at feet. Let me tell you, there are PLENTY of people with the same genetic trait. PLENTY. It really isn’t that rare, or bizarre, or ugly when you accept it. Feet in general are not that pretty. Don’t get how some people can have obsessions. Hubby has short, fat, Fred Flintstone feet with stubby toes, so aren’t we quite the pair! Ha! Yes, pretty polish definitely helps, but it also draws peoples eyes to your tootsies! Perhaps all of us Frankenfooted people should embrace our piggies and get pretty “F” monogrammed rings for that freaky fella on our foot. We could start a club! Ha ha ha ha!!!
Sorry for writing a book. Guess I was enjoying the conversation.

Aww, yay! Thanks for the shout-out. It’s not quite warm enough for sandals in San Francisco yet, but I painted my toenails turquoise last week. Even though nobody else sees them just knowing they’re bright and crazy down there makes me happy. Keep celebrating those franken-toes!!
