this weekend is the 5th annual girls weekend, organized by jenn. we (usually 6-8 girls) go to grand view lodge up in bray-nurd, rent a large cabin, and start the weekend with appointments at the spa. i generally opt for a massage and facial, a once-a-year treat. the rest of the weekend we eat cheese, drink lots of wine, read trash mags, play games, relax, and snowshoe. the weather forecast for the weekend: a high of -3 on saturday, with -25 to -35 wind chill. ouch! i’m bringing warm fuzzy clothes, my double fleece blanket, and my knitting. i’ll probably skip snowshoeing, and stay under the blankets!

as the weekend always coincides with tracy’s birthday, we usually have a little celebration for her. this year, jenn commissioned my sis to make the cake. she made us a chocolate cake, infused with raspberry, and it’s pictured above. i think that’s all i want to eat for the weekend!
