heather moore (etsy shop : skinny laminx) is a writer, illustrator, and designer living in cape town, south africa. i’m not sure where i first saw her borrowed spoon tea towels… it must have been on a blog or two (design*sponge?). i loved the design and the colors she chose for printing. i decided to get a few for christmas: a red one for my sis, and a stainless steel one for both me and jenn. they’re really affordable, at $11 a piece (i’ve paid up to $40 for handmade tea towels locally). shipping to the states is $5, and is pretty quick, about 2 weeks. and heather donates $1 from each sale of the towel to a non-profit organization in south africa that provides food to disadvantaged school children.

i’m also a big fan of her other work: when i look at her summer weeds cushion covers, i hear the wind blowing through tall grass on a quiet summer day. and her orla tea towel in chartreuse reminds me of my tarragon plant, which is currently buried under a foot of snow. she’s got a big fan here at the studio.

check out her shop, and her blog is fun to read as well!
