see cute grey dress at target. oooh and ahhh. discover they don’t have your size. order it online. pay $4.98 for shipping. after it arrives 5 days later, eagerly try it on. decide the length, 2 inches below the knees, looks too matronly for your youthful 30-something years. take it to a tailor, pay $26.75 to have it hemmed 3 inches. voilĂ , $56.72.
so much for being frugal. sigh.

shane and i stopped at the red wing art festival on the way home from buying pumpkins and apples last saturday. i was so happy to see holmquist pottery there! they’ve been a favorite of mine for years, and are regular exhibitors at the uptown art fair. i just love the color and illustrations - they’re cute, without being too cartoony. i’ve got 2 of their treat jars (one holds treats for me, the other holds milk bones), and decided i need a new tea mug for work that reminds me of my dogs:
